2007 Annual Report

Once again, you opened your hearts to share blessings and goodwill to others in need in our Twin Cities community through Sponsor A Family, a joint project of Lutheran Social Service and Catholic Charities.

We are happy to report that over 1,880 families we serve, representing 8,184 individuals, received holiday gifts and food gift cards from a variety of sponsors, including churches and businesses, extended families, elementary schools and Cub Scout troops. Thank you for your generous support!

If you did not have an opportunity to be involved as a sponsor this year but would like to participate next year, please sign up to be on our mailing list by clicking here.

Here are a few other highlights for Sponsor A Family in 2007:

Volunteer teams extended our resources…

We had numerous volunteer teams working with us to collect and distribute gifts at our warehouse locations from The Hartford, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, General Mills, Wells Fargo, Felhaber, book clubs, churches, and many other organizations. We could not have done it without you!

Corporate sponsors stepped up in a big way…

Our prayers were answered when two corporate donors offered us free warehouse space in Minneapolis and St. Paul, thanks to Tri-Land Properties and the River Centre Convention & Visitors Center. Felhaber, Larson, Fenlon & Vogt, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and Ryan contributed significant operational support for the project. Several other businesses offered in-kind support, which allowed us to focus resources on the needs of families.

We hope you will check back with us next fall when we will gear up for Sponsor A Family 2008. On behalf of our affiliate organizations and all the families and individuals, thanks for your generous support, volunteer help, and the blessings of this holiday searson!
