Sponsor A Family is a joint holiday project of Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Service that brings joy to nearly 2,000 families each year. We are grateful to individuals, congregations, civic organizations and businesses that sponsor families.

Shop for a Family
 Thank you for your interest in becoming a sponsor!
Due to a tremendous response from the Twin Cities community, we do have enough sponsors to shop for registered families. However, we still need sponsors who are willing to provide emergency gifts to families in need who just started working with one of our program case managers. In addition, we still need gift cards or cash support to help us ensure every family has food gift cards for a holiday meal. Last year we were able to support 123 additional families with this extra help, this year we hope to serve 150 families through emergency gifts.

Here is how you can still share:

  1. We need sponsors to buy gifts for families registering late. See suggested gift items.

  2. Sponsors may deliver the gifts to Minneapolis December 12th or 13th between 7:30am-7:30pm.

  3. We also need sponsors who can help Feed a Family by helping provide a Cub or Rainbow gift certificate totaling $10 per family member so that families experiencing hardship can enjoy a holiday meal.

Families receiving gifts are served through Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Service and other non-profit organizations. They may be homeless families, isolated seniors on a fixed income, persons with disabilities, families in counseling, refugees, grandparents raising grandchildren, or others receiving social services. 

While the exchange between a sponsor and a family is anonymous, becoming a sponsor is a wonderful, and very personal, way to connect with a real family, spread joy and brighten the lives of others.
